Connecting industrial products to the cloud
Callenge
In many areas today, data is collected and stored locally. As digitalisation progresses, this data is being made available in central cloud systems. Exelonix offers various solutions for this.

Recording of operating states and statistical data
In many cases, the operating data recorded by the devices and stored locally is only read out and analysed sporadically (e.g. during support). The data volume is usually limited anyhow by the limited local memory. A daily transfer of small amounts of data to the cloud is therefore often sufficient. If error messages are also available promptly in the cloud solution, this often results in considerable added value in the form of lower maintenance costs and minimisation of the downtime of the monitored devices. The LPWA gateway solution from Exelonix is easy to retrofit and is particularly economical if there is no access to data cabling on site. The LPWA solution offers stable network coverage even in difficult mobile radio environments (e.g. underground car parks and basements).

Cellular wireless networks to replace cables
Manufacturers of devices with which they themselves provide their customers with a service are often faced with the problem of an unknown IT infrastructure on the part of the customer, to which the manufacturer often has no access. In such cases, the quality of service is often dependent on the customer's co-operation. One alternative to connecting the devices to the local data network is a direct connection to the cloud via mobile communications. The advantage here lies in the worldwide availability and the fact that the manufacturer is directly responsible for connecting the devices. The LTE gateway solution is designed as a modular gateway that is customised to the manufacturer's product and integrates seamlessly into its device. Based on an LTE mobile radio platform, Exelonix always designs such customised solutions in close cooperation with the respective customer.

Data connection of local wireless sensors
In the field of smart home solutions, there is a growing number of sensors that provide their data locally via Bluetooth. This data is often collected by corresponding apps using mobile phones. The Bluetooth gateway based on the 5G SENS platform makes it possible to record this data independently of mobile phones and make it regularly available in the cloud. This eliminates the need for complex sensor cabling. In addition, a smartphone is no longer required to regularly query the sensors.
The Bluetooth gateway can also be used to record data from Bluetooth-enabled medical sensors (e.g. pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, etc.). This enables reliable medical monitoring of patients in the home environment.
